Melitopol (Melitopil for Ukrainian) is a city situated in the southern part of Ukraine in Zaporizhya Oblast on the Molochnaya river.

Melitopol is located in a steppe zone, favorable for growing various fruits and vegetables. Melitopol is also a regional manufacturing center: food products, consumer goods, automobiles engines are being produced there.

The population of Melitopol is around 200,000 people.
